Cooma to Orbost via Eden, Orbost to Coal Creek

We had planned a ride out from Cooma around the Snowy Mountains loop to Jindabyne, around Mount Kosciuszko, up to the B72 and back, but the weather had closed the main road and made the others risky, so we changed our plans  and  instead we did some looping through the forests on our way to Orbost Via Eden.  The positive side of this was that we had an extra day up our sleeve, and as it turned out, a day’s rest did not go amiss later on.

Cooma.  Probably best to go there in the ski season.  But not by bike, I suspect.

Orbost.  Good pub food.

Coal Creek.  A very pleasant place run by a young couple, who had to ask me how to cook a steak “blue”.  Once instructed, they did a great job.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
